Mouth breathing baby-toddler

My toddler is now 2 years old but since birth he’s been a mouth breather. His mouth is open a lot when he sleeps. From the beginning I always mentioned it to the health visitor, midwives and doctors. Even now at age 2 and they keep telling me he’ll grow out of it bc his glands might be too big for him right now? Has anyone else had this with their child? I really don’t know what to do or who to go to
