We haven’t even attempted. We’ve got 6 months old twins so I’m not convinced I’ll be able to stop and help my toddler quickly should he need it. Hopefully going to try over summer ☺️

We tried with my little boy over Easter but decided maybe not quite ready. We had a lot of accidents and very limited progress over the weekend. So back to nappies for now. It's not giving up, it's meeting them where they're at devopmentally. We'll try again in June/July.

Don’t give in - push through it and commit. It doesn’t happen overnight and you will have multiple accidents but they are learning and you need to guide them until they get it. Make it fun, stickers, singing and a potty book. New pants too. They will get it.

I’m looking towards summer so we can be in the garden with no nappy/pull ups

Totally agree with above comment: you have to commit and really go for it. Half giving it a go or not is just confusing for them. We’re currently potty training my little boy (week 2) and it’s slow going but he’s definitely getting better. Patience and wine will get you through it 🤞🏼

Nope! I didn’t potty train my eldest till he was 3 (and he asked) and we had no accidents! I know lots of people that push it, and it doesn’t go well/they regress, whereas we never had any issues! I’ll be potty training my youngest when she’s ready ☺️ which is soon to be fair as she asks to go potty, pretends to do something and then wipes 😂 so she knows the concept!

We aren't yet either. He knows when he wants a wee but will only tell me after he's gone in his nappy

Any advice on knowing when they are ready? My son talks about the potty and likes sitting on it but has only once actually did something (a wee). He usually tells us when he's done a poo but pretty much always after the fact. I'm due with number 2 in September so would really like for him to be trained before then but I don't want to push it if he's just not ready either!

We tried over Easter too! Thought might be a good time as my husband was off work and we were staying around home. She wasn’t quite ready and although we had a good morning, the afternoon was awful and she was screaming not to go on the potty. I didn’t want to traumatise her so we are going to give it another month or so and see how she seems. We have the potty in the living room and I just ask her if she wants to sit on it but not putting any pressure on it.

I wanted to over easter as i thought she was ready but she’s started refusing to go nappy free so going to wait a little longer

You just need to commit to it and not revert back to nappies. Accept that a lot of accidents will happen. Some people mentioned putting pants into a pull up, so they felt the wetness. I think being bottomless to start is the best way
