Hi lovely. This sounds like my girl, Dulcie sufferers from CMPA which was diagnosed around 3 weeks so please bare that in mind. Also, she is a very very windy girl, I swear by dentinox and the freida mum windis. It sounds like she’s fussing on the boob, around this age I found Dulcie was needing to be soothed in other ways as she wasn’t hungry but wanted the boob for comfort. She responded well to reggae music (don’t laugh) and singing and rocking. Also, please look at wonky winding as I found it really beneficial for winding but not a major position change which woke her. Most importantly stay strong and trust me Mama you’re doing everything you can. Please look at CMPA and signs of reflux. Sending love xxxxx
definitely make an appointment with the lactation consultant. this is how i found out i had a low supply and my baby wasn’t getting enough. she would do this exact thing. latch, drink for a few minutes, then let go and get frustrated and try to re-latch and i had to switch breasts.
maybe you need to burp her that’s why she’s screaming
This is definitely the hardest part, just know that….its very challenging in the first couple weeks as you and baby learn and your milk supply is established. And it doesn’t come “naturally” or “easily” for many. Have you seen a lactation consultant? She may have an issue with her latch-tongue tie, etc it could also be she’s having discomfort when turning her head to a certain side, can be from trauma in birth, some people recommend chiropractor. Could even just be gas or she finds your let down too strong. Whatever it is, getting help to pin point the issue/issues will help. But, I also want to say-this time is so precious and so limited. So if breastfeeding isn’t working and you are unhappy it’s ok to stop. It’s ok to bottle feed/ formula feed. It’s better that your baby has a happy mom. It’s better you enjoy your baby, enjoy bonding. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad. 2 of my 3 have been formula fed and all 3 are perfectly healthy, I couldn’t tell the difference between them.
