Concussion in babies

Hey Mummas and any Nurses! We presented to hospital last Wednesday after a fall from 1.2m with post vomit x3 and loose head movements while vomiting and then zoning out for 5-15 minutes post fall. I feel off that they didn’t do any scans and unsure whether I need to return as my 8 month old is still very fussy and is now waking every 30 minutes during night (she was a good sleeper prior to fall and concussion). I have also noticed a lot of jerky arm throwing in the air but I do remember my first doing this when learning to use her arms so unsure if that’s just developmental or from a head injury. Would you take baby back in? I’ll call the acute care team when they open in morning but I’m awake and stressing

Absolutely wouldn’t wait take her back immediately I hope she is ok and makes a full recovery ❤️‍🩹

Definitely take her back in. Not sure where your located but we have Ryan’s Rule in QLD. You can claim this and they must act on it. Maybe have a google what this is about and see if you have something similar or can use it where your located.

Thank you ladies for the advice! I’ve been annoyed with myself all week that I didn’t push for anything after how she was straight after fall. Thanks again 🫶🏼

We had a fall from a smaller height a few weeks ago with x 10 vomits afterwards and the hospital didn’t even hesitate to suggest scans to rule anything out. Little boy is 10 months so had to be sedated for the scan as he wouldn’t stay still but it was great for peace of mind! Goodluck xx

I would be going back if it were me
