Feared of strangers?

Anyone else's suddenly become feared of strangers/anyone other than parents? Is this normal part of separation anxiety/development? My little boy used to be the most smiley happy baby and would grin at absolutely everyone. Everyone used to comment how smiley he was. Recently if a stranger tries to talk/interact with him, or if we visit friends/family he cries his eyes out simply just looking at them or if they talk to him😂 it's so unlike his normal character so it's throwing me off guard. Seems to be particularly bad with men. He's fine with his dad just no other man. It makes me feel so guilty whenever we go to visit my parents as he cries hysterically around my dad for no reason😥

Yup. Totally normal lol. Some kids don’t experience it but others do. My middle child, you could not go anywhere near him or even look his way and make eye contact 😂 From like 5 months until I forgot when. And he’s still pretty skeptical of strangers. My last baby will go with whoever.

@MJ_xo aww glad to know it's normal at least haha. It's only started in the past couple of weeks, he'd previously go to anyone, but it seemed to come out of nowhere and now he cries at everyone😆. I'm hoping he starts to gain more confidence around people especially his nursery carers and family members, it's hard seeing him so upset whenever he's in their presence

@Caitlin yeah he will come around. We had a very hard time with stranger anxiety too so I know how hard it can be 😩

Yes! Screams if he’s looked at in the pram, but only men!

My boy was exactly the same super sociable and then all of a sudden would cry if anyone smiled at him. He’s been like this for a couple of weeks but he’s coming out of the other side now
