No. Your husband's sperm is what determines the sex of the baby. So unless he goes to a fertility specialist for sperm sorting and they separate the female sperm, you would then need to do a round of IUI. But they still want for you do have intercourse to increase chances so you could still become pregnant from him naturally and have a boy because of that. So you'd just need to skip that and abstain from sex for a few days leading up to and after the insemination. There's nothing him or you can do to increase chances on your own though. Sorry.
@Kayla I'm currently doing IUI, just wanted to chime in to inform they don't separate the sperm lol I wish they did that's not how it works though. In IVF with genetic embryo testing you can find determine the sex. Most just choose to transfer the healthiest embryo regardless of sex. But yes the sperm determines the sex of the baby
You can increase your odds of a girl but not guarantee it by timing sex a few days before ovulation. This will require detailed tracking by ovulation tests, cervical mucus tracking, BBT for several months to determine a pattern and best calculate when you expect to ovulate. By timing sex a few days before ovulation it makes it more likely that the slower, hardier female sperm will make it to the egg and the faster, less sturdy male sperm will have mostly died off. Not a guarantee but can increase the odds. As a note: the odds are not significantly increased from the standard 50/50, but may give you a 60/40 chance of a girl.
I think you’ll need a new husband 😂😂
@Incognito girl, yeah. I couldn't remember with IUI. I should though. I went through 4 rounds of it a little over 3 years ago before we admitted defeat and went with IVF. I know all of this. Just had a moment. 😅
@Kayla congratulations! I'm going to do the third round soon. I'm 36 but really don't want to undergo IVF.
@Incognito Good luck with your IUI treatment. I know they can become exhausting 🙏🏼 but they are worth it
@Kayla Thank you! I've barley accepted sex ed lied to us and just having sex doesn't get you pregnant lol 😭😭
Gender selection IVF lol, and I don't think that's even an option in the UK so probably isn't in other places as well. You can hope for a girl but not guarantee one even if you could increase your odds. So be prepared for boy number 3, it's still 50/50 odds! Even if gender selection was an option when I did IVF I wouldn't have used it because I think you should want a baby for the sake of wanting a baby not for the associated gender stereotypes. Like you could very easily have a boy who likes stereotypically feminine things or vice versa. So I honestly don't get it when people are so set on one gender. I don't judge it because I believe they will love the baby anyway but I don't get it!
@Incognito I hope it all works out for your family. It is definitely difficult to go through these treatments as we get older, but you've got this!! 🙏🏼 Sending all the baby dust your way ✨✨✨
we got three girls lol we are hoping for a boy before we get to 10 girls 😅
So I’ve heard that having sex a few days before you ovulate can help chances of a girl as they are longer living within the uterus, while male sperm die off/exit much quicker within a day or two. So if you have sex the day or day after you ovulate you have higher chance of it being a boy, not guaranteed but higher chance. I would try having sex a couple days before ovulation and you can only try to manifest a girl from there!
No. The sperm is what dictates sex
