Capping naps

Does anyone cap their little ones naps? My baby has reduced night sleep to 9-9.5 hours. Usually gets that less if daytime sleep is 2.5 hours which I didn’t think is a lot tbh. Baby is 10 months old

Yes I cap naps. He has around 1.5-2 hours during the day so that he sleeps at night.

When is the last nap? I had an issue with my LO having split nights so got a sleep consultant there recommended routine was 7am wake if not already awake 9:30 - 11 nap 2-3:30 nap 7pm put down in cot

@Hannah thanks for the response, I’ve been thinking about a sleep consultant, who did you use? Also he sleeps around the same time as the routine you’ve pointed out but is still only sleeping 9-9.5 hours overnight, he used to do 10-10.5 hours

@Sophie thank you! I feel bad capping naps so he only had 2 hours day sleep as I feel like it’s less and don’t want an overtired and cranky baby 😭 dyu Mind telling me your routine, I’ve been seeing to cap the first nap at 30-40 mins?

I used Sally the sleep concierge, she’s based in Australia but it wasn’t an issue and I liked her on social media. She also does a group chat called snooze social that’s $7 a month that you can ask advice on. My baby went from sleeping 13.5/14 hours a day to 12 hours but we’ve managed to get him back up to 14 now. Sally was great at looking at his whole day so eating drinking everything. It wasn’t my priority to drop the night feed but that went quickly too

Of course. My lo is 11mo tomorrow if that helps. 6:30/7 wake up 10 nap 1 (always wake by 11) 2:30 Nap (always wake by 4) 7:30 put in bed - usually asleep by 7:45. He sometimes takes a while to drop off for naps so doesn't have the 2.5 hours that it looks like he has from the timings. He copes well with a 1 nap day too, just a 2 hour nap 12-2.
