We’re having false starts to! I’ve researched and there are so many reason!! Not sure which one is more fitting for my little boy, could be all of them 😂
Yes this is normal for us these days - usually we just get her up, eat our dinner and she’ll soon start yawning!
Yeah we've been having lots of these even before the heat hit. There's been a couple of times I've just plonked him on the sofa with us and he zones in on the TV as if that's where he belonged the whole time 🤣 Monina OP described in her post, when baby goes to bed as normal then wakes up 30 mins later and is hard to get back down ☺️
Yess my baby does this most nights now and like you, it’s taking close to 2 hours to get him back to sleep after 😩
Eurgh it’s so frustrating! Especially when you look into it, different sources give different potential reasons. But most commonly I’ve seen its likely due to under-tiredness so they’re almost treating that first little stretch as a nap and then it lowers their sleep pressure, hence why they are tricky to get back down. What’s his nap routine? And what’s the last wake window before bed? Also I’m guessing your little one is around 6 months? X
@Monina when they go down for bedtime but wake up within 1hr, like a power nap
Yep same thing every night regardless if we have a day of good naps or not. He treats bedtime like it’s naptime but once we do get him back off then he does sleep a good stretch. Just is what it is atm I suppose xxx
It does look like she is treating It as a nap. Her bedtime is usually 7.30/8.30pm but this week I was trying to bring it back down to at list 7pm. Her wake up window before bedtime is still the same 1hr 30min. I will try to increase her bottle maybe.
Could be that you need a longer wake window before bed? We've extended ours to 2.5 or 3 hours and he is now doing longer for that first stretch!
Yeah I agree that the wake window is probably too short. 1.5 hours is the minimum wake window for this kind of age, and they generally say the wake window before bed should be the longest. Try pushing it out a bit and see if that makes any difference x
What are false starts??
