Hi mamas does anyone have recommendations and experiences on what the best hypoallergenic milk is for babies that have a dairy allergy ? I have ebf my 9 month old and going to be introducing formula milk but not sure what the best one is as I don’t want to waste money on the wrong one. Thanks 🫶🏻

Learn more about our guidelines. Are they allergic or sensitive to the proteins? Mine isn't allergic but has a hard time digesting cow proteins. Depending on what's going on you might be able to use some of the goat milk based formulas.
Came to say what Miriam said!
My little one had a sensitivity but not a full blown allergy (no rash/ no full of blood diapers) and we transition to a goat milk formula and he is THRIVING.
My little one has a lactose intolerance and we used aptamil lactose free formula
I believe she’s definitely allergic im awaiting testing from the GP to be certain.
She has had reactions such as hives and rashes with itchy eyes etc from my milk whenever I had dairy and the same reactions when she has had dairy outside of my milk
Don't spend money on allergy milk it's extortionate, get a prescription from a GP x
I'm with Danielle. You don't need to buy it, speak with your GP and they should prescribe it. It's a battle to begin with to get it but stand your ground and they should sort it out for you
@CJ mine was the same. She is ebf but I also wanted to start formula for when she goes to nursery, she is 8 months. We just had the allergy testing and she was referred to a dietitian who sent a prescription for formula to the gp
I give my daughter Nutramigen. Thats what her pediatrician gave us.
My girl was started on Nutramigen first of all but they only prescribed 1 tin so we ran out, we bought a tin while waiting for the GP to prescribe more and it cost us £25!! Definitely get it prescribed. Also you don’t really want to start on 1 and then the GP prescribe you a different 1 as it can take babies a while to get used to the different taste x
Go to GP should prescribe something
