@Elizabeth Aneiros thank you. I’m always so paranoid about reheating food even for myself. I don’t know why, I think it’s an anxiety I’ve got from my mum! But good to know, thank you ☺️
Totally safe. It's like you having leftovers for dinner or taking it with you for lunch
You are very welcome, sometimes I can't be bothered to heat food up so I eat it cold. My son loves cold food
Just reading above about being paranoid about reheating. Im a chef(UK based) if you want to chat about temperatures you can reheat food safely to then im more than happy to chat and answer questions 🩵
Yes that’s fine. My little one had left over orzo with a veggie sauce for lunch today :)
@Tiffanie if I cooked for a chef I'd be thrown out my own kitchen 🤣 I break so many food safety and contamination regulations at home 😂 I had too much kitchen training for someone that's never worked in a kitchen
Yeah I would only worry about it if it was meat or fish and even then you can reheat that too once I think - making sure it’s hot throughout. Rice is the only thing I’m hesitant about. What’s your view on rice @Tiffanie ?
@Lauren rice is fine to reheat as long as you cool it down as quickly as possible
Thank you everyone ☺️ I get so worried about making her ill so I always need a second opinion. Hopefully the food anxiety will ease one day 🤞🏻
@Lauren hey! Rice when properly cooked is completely fine. If you're storing it ensure its dry and cooled as quickly as possible. Preferably use within 48 hours. When reheating it needs to be at 75°c or above but i heat mine waaaay hotter! Rice is porus which makes it a bacteria haven and like other similar foods(pasta) bacillus cereus is the most commonly found bacteria if not heated properly- it can still spread even with proper heating and cooling. Have a google at 'fried rice syndrome'
@Lauren as a mum though id say if you heat it use it and then freeze it as it typically is safer. Thats what i do x
Incognito have you heard of a temperature probe? They sell them on amazon or lakeland. (Dont use laser they're extremely inaccurate) but i use it everytimebi cook and swear by it x
Thanks @Emmo & @Tiffanie ! So basically rice is ok to reheat providing you nuke it and then stir it/cool it quickly and eat?
@Lauren the cooling is for storing not after reheating

@Ebony honestly my boyfriend will not cook for me.... he breaks my brain watching him spread butter on toast 😅😅
@Tiffanie thankfully mine will. But looking at the butter after he's used it makes me question how he doesn't burn dinner
Yes it's safe to give her, it's up to you if you want to heat it up or not
