Yeah you’ll need something for them to sleep in down stairs with you at the start. I wouldn’t spent a lot of money on one tho, they don’t last long. (And my first didn’t actually like sleeping in his. He was a contact napper😂) Some people just use the bassinet from the pram, travel cot, Moses basket. I had a “3 in 1 nested glide and go” I loved mine😂
I'm glad I had one. It's great to have somewhere safe to pop them down when you need to grab a drink or go to the loo. There's loads of them on Facebook market place. It'll only be used for 4/5 months so personally didn't want to spend loads of money so used a second hand one
I would get one as both my babies found cribs/next to mes too big and wanted to sleep in my arms however when I had a moses basket for my second he loved sleeping in it day and night. X
I personally didn’t have one, we had a sleep nest (controversial I know) on the sofa next to me or sometimes we actually put it on our coffee table - she’s was never unattended in it though because I was very lucky to have my husband for a long time on mat leave so if you’re going to be alone it’s probably a good idea to have one so that you can leave the room haha!
I didn't have one with my first, she used to nap in her pram as had the silver cross that they could sleep in for long periods. But will get one this time for the living room xx
You don’t ‘need’ one but they’re very handy - we got one specifically because we have a dog and needed a spot to put him where she couldn’t go - but my brother swore by one of those sleep nests (for monitored naps only) or if your pram bassinet is sleep safe you could also use that x
I used a Moses basket downstairs and next to me crib upstairs x
I'm just going to use the pram cot as it is suitable for sleeping.
Yessss! It makes all the difference! And we also put it in the next to me for a while as that was too big for her at night time! Xx
We had one and never used it - she ended up sleeping in the pram bassinet
I wish I didn't waste my money! My baby would only (and still does) only do contact naps in the day, but went down in the next to me ok at night upstairs x
I never wanted one. I have no space downstairs and we use the pram. It works perfect
I would get one unless you have a pram which is safe for them to sleep in. Ours isn’t but we have carpet so we never wanted to drag the pram through the house. I would recommend a Moses basket that is easy to carry around the house. We got the snuz and it has handles so it’s easy to get things done when he’s sleeping. It’s not cheap but you can get them second hand on marketplace. They’re also bigger than most Moses baskets so they last longer.
I think they’re a waste of money personally and didn’t get one, they outgrow them so quickly. I used the bassinet from our pram on a Moses basket stand, much bigger so lasted longer x

I’m still expecting mine but reckon something for downstairs will help! Moses basket/travel cot etc. I got a second hand one for free on Facebook and then just bought a new mattress for it.
Use your pram bassinet and a Moses stand! Saves buying/storing both
We used a Moses basket until very recently. Our LO has just turned 3 months & we used hers up until about 11 weeks old. She was a bigger baby & it done us well for when she was napping downstairs. We just got one secondhand so we didn’t spend a lot of money on it :)
I would say yes, I didn't and I was stuck when sje was asleep, contact napping because I only had a next to me, and I think i would have found a moses basket for downstairs during the day really helpful x
