@Tabitha you could get GP to “write you off” work sooner e.g. sick leave/bed rest to not use up mat leave weeks
I just spoke to my midwife about this and she suggested power napping in lunch breaks (where you can) and talking to your line manager. I've been working at home a lot more recently as it's helped me to take rest when I need. She told me to lean into pregnancy tiredness and not feel guilty or bad about it. It could also be that you're low on iron or other nutrients so make sure your diet is giving you enough!
Home working when you can so you can nap in your lunch break! That’s what I did with my first & it did help. I also booked 3 weeks annual leave before matty leave but have decided to use one full week before I go off then 2 weeks to start going part time from now until end of July so only working 3 days (usually work 4) so can have a rest day to myself whilst my toddler is at nursery 🙂
Honestly listen to your body, if you need to rest/sleep in the day then do so, you’ll find it won’t affect you too much at night. I found it really difficult working long hours with my first pregnancy so I reduced hours and had extra little mini breaks 5/10 mins here and there as and when I could. It definitely helped me stay on longer xx
Honestly do what your body tells you, if you need rest you need rest. I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant and due to go on my maternity leave June 13th but I am exhausted and suffering with so many new symptoms I didn’t haven’t before. If I knew I was going to feel this awful I probably would’ve arranged to go off work sooner to avoid the added stress and pressure.
