Potty training regression??
Is this a thing?
I started potty training Good Friday and he was pretty much dry from the get go with no accidents. The last 4 days he’s not going to the toilet to have a poo he’s just crying and doing it in his pants!
Does anybody have any tips?
I’ve tried ‘positive reinforcement’ with smarties but it’s like he’s forgotten what to do when he needs a poo 😫😫😫

@Lizi thanks for your reply. He’s just pooed all over my living room pillows 😫😫😫😫😫 but finished it on the potty so a treat and cheerleading… followed by all of todays 💩 washing x

Yes, this is very much a thing! We trained at 18m and have had a few ‘backwards steps’ in the following months. My best advice is to just keep everything the same, I found it usually happened on the back of developmental milestones and behaviour challenges etc. they are still figuring it all out. Additionally, if it is poos you might find they are causing him some pain for whatever reason. Again, keeping things the same and not adding pressure is my best advice, in my experience it will pass by about a week or so
