Is anyone’s baby not liking purees? Mixing with milk and a little cereal for fullness. She hated the chicken and rice. Now trying carrots. She just puts her hands in her mouth the whole time

Learn more about our guidelines.Yes! My son did the same. My oldest did this as well and we took it that he was not ready for them yet. We tried again in a month or so and he eventually ate them.
Ohhhh that didn’t even cross my mind lol! Okay thanks so much
It's still very early to start foods! It's not really standard until 6 months and even then it's more for exploring than calories.
Around 6 months is when their caloric and iron needs increase beyond what breastmilk can provide so it's important to start introducing foods but it's not a bottle replacement until after 12 mo.
@Samantha, yeah just try again in a month or so
@Elena depending on the pediatricians advice 4 months is not too early to start purées and rice cereal 😊 our little one was cleared to test out purées here and there at 4 months. We started with carrots and avocados he’s been loving them! It’s in very small portions and he still get at least 5 bottles a day. Every LO is different.
@McKenzie not too early! Many pediatricians say 4-6 mo but it's not necessary at that age range. That's great that he loves them!
Meats are hard for their little tummies and their taste buds (it’s better at 6 months) stay more towards fruits, veggies, and cereals (only the oats and rice, they’re still too young for the multigrain). Hands in the mouth is also totally normal. She could just be trying to get more in and her first is something she can get in there (😂 it’s so cute, I love when my baby does it❤️) expect a LOT of spitting out the food cause they’re still learning how to get it back to their throats and not suck like they do at the breast or the bottle. ❤️ hope this helps
