@🔮Angela🔮 I was always worried about the amount of sugar in it, after some research I realised it has a few E numbers and small print that has worried me. I just want to go with the cleanest possible option and don’t feel like a sick baby needs a sugar rush (just my opinion)
I haven’t used it yet but I did just order it last week and was waiting on it arriving
I'd personally rather give my LO calpol with sugar than something I'd never heard of and that was unregulated. Maybe ask GP/HV if they've heard of it. I use sugar free calpol for my girl, would that be better? May still have the other additives x
@Jane I’ve always used the sugar free version of Calpol, I just wish there were more options in the UK
Yeah I’ve used the sugar free stuff but they still have the E numbers, it’s crazy to me that they have that in it and that’s what is recommended to give after 8 week jabs!
@Tamara I think the exact same! It’s scary that we’re just programmed not to question it because it seems so normal but when you look into it its worrying
@Amira maybe I shouldn’t but now that I’ve looked into it its just on my mind
I use the nurofen cold and flu rather than calpol and its strawberry flavour as well. Calpol does nothing for my little one when she’s unwell or teething
Try shop/ supermarket own brand paracetamol instead - most don’t contain colours, E.Numbers or sugar but still have a flavour so they don’t taste horrible. It’s also cheaper than calpol which is a bonus
ASDA own brand calpol has much better ingredients. I am the same as you, crazy that they put in colours and E numbers into children's medicine x
I’ve got genexa- it tastes really good for them and it is a great alternative, it’s got ingredients you will recognise. It’s definitely the cleanest option available. The issue with sugar free calpol is then sweeteners - also is difficult for the baby to utilise this.
@Lauren do you have a photo? I can’t seem to find it
Why not calpol? X
