Fur several days in a row my baby’s poop has been greenish and mucousy. And stinky. Can this be normal?

Learn more about our guidelines. My baby was having poops exactly like this, and then I noticed a tiny speck of blood. I thought it could be CMPI So I cut dairy and since then it’s gone back to being yellow and seedy. Sometimes a little mucousy though but overall better. I asked the pediatrician and she said that’s probably what it is since it resolved itself once I cut dairy. So you you may want to ask your pediatrician!
My babe had the same and it was a cow milk protein intolerance so I cut dairy but it didn’t improve much. My doctor had me cut out soy as well. It has slowly been less mucousy and more yellow tinged in the past week. It took 4 weeks of no soy or dairy though
Does that include dairy in baked goods?
Yes! Any and all dairy including butter, milk, cheese, yogurt. I’ve switched to almond milk or coconut milk based products. If something says “may contain” I still eat it but if it’s in the ingredients at all I avoid it
And lactose free doesn’t mean dairy free because it’s the protein not the lactose that our babies are allergic to
I had been dairy free for like a month and then I had my birthday dinner at a sushi place two weeks ago. I don’t know why, but I completely blacked out and ate a bunch of sushi with cream cheese in it. I have since not eaten any more dairy. But maybe it’s taking a while for it to process out of my milk.
Our pediatrician said that could happen after getting vaccines, not sure if the timing aligns for you
Definitely sounds like cmpi if you’re on Facebook there’s a great page dairy-free diet- breastfeeding. Super informative and helpful. It takes a couple weeks for the dairy to be completely out of your system then a couple weeks after that to be out of baby’s system
