No Pants, Works!

I've been so anxious about potty training, especially since my boy (soon to be 4yo) will be going to school this fall. We've invested in pull-ups and gave treats. Pooping in the potty was easier for him to learn than peeing. A win is a win, but we couldn't get him to understand the urge to pee. We've been at this for months! Today, I finally gave the "no pants" training a try and wow! It just clicked for him! I put the mini potty in his space where we play, and literally every chance he felt like he had to go, HE WENT! I was so nervous that his intrusive thoughts would activate and choose to go in his ball pit, but he didn't! Every pee and poo went in the potty! Only one accident, but it was fine cause momma was prepared with her upholstery cleaner on standby. This is only day one, so I'm not gonna get ahead of myself, but I just want to say I'm so proud of my big boy!! Plus, this was all done without bribery like normal. Ahhhhh! I'm so geeked! 🤩✨️ Keep pressing forward, mommas, and don't give up! Every child has a preference, and patience is key. When they're ready, they are ready!

We started the potty training with No pants a few days ago, my son would say that he wanna poop and go sit on the portable seat in living room but would not really go or do anything. Then later would poop in the diaper when we go out. Also have accidents for pee which I understand is advanced level for them but How do I make him go??

When you say no pants do you mean absolutely nothing or did you do this with underwear? Curious because I would like to move forward with my son as well 🤣

@Sash idk I'm honestly still figuring this out as well. I'd say keep encouraging him and give him time. Maybe he isn't ready just yet.

@Kerri ✨ I'm so excited! Day two is looking great as well. He even wants to help empty his potty out.

@Brittany nothing on waist down. Just free balling lol

@Princess my son turned 2 in March. I got him a little potty because he was showing signs to be ready and now … not so much. I gave him a break and we are gonna try again in a few weeks. This has given me hope!! I gotta look in to this method.

@Kerri ✨ sending you positive vibes. My daughter started at 18mo all by herself from watching her cousin learn to potty train. She caught on quickly. My son is definitely different. It's been several months trying to get him to adapt to the idea. This method has been the most effective thus far. And I'm not even bribing him! That part is still shocking me that he's going all on his own without offering a cookie! Keep hope alive. Something will click for your baby.
