Still night waking for milk

Any tips to stop toddler waking for milk in the night? She’s 18m and waking constantly at pretty much same times every night. I’ve tried water, watering down milk, and reducing the amount but it gets to a point and she just cries. I’m going to just try cold turkey but I know she will hate this.

Maybe you need to give her extra before bed? We stuff our little boy with milk before his bedtime until he falls asleep and it sees him through until the morning?

@Lor we also do this. She has a supper and then milk before she goes to sleep. I’ve been reading about their sleep cycles and because she wakes at every one and then we feed her milk she has gotten used to it and we need to break the cycle 🥺

Oh girl! It sounds like you’re right then you’re just going to have to break the cycle, hopefully it’s just habit rather than hunger! Does she have a dummy? I know they’re getting a bit old for them now but our boy is content to suckle on that if he wakes up in the night and when we were in nicu the hospital gave it to him inbetween meal times. It’ll be rough initially but she’ll get there soon!

My LO was waking 2 3 times in the night for milk, and i literally just went in one night and gave her the dummy instead of milk. She cried for about a minute and then went back to sleep. After that, I would put her to bed with a bottle of milk. She has slept through since. I knew she wasn't hungry because she eats all day 🤣 it was literally a habit, and it needed breaking. She doesn't have milk anymore, but she takes a bottle of water to bed.

@Megan hey what do u mean by dummy ? Like a bottle without milk and she is ok with having it? I am kind of goong through same thing, just watered it down a lot but he still ask for it at night

@Surabhi no a pacifier. It doesn't work for everyone but I will let my kids cry it out for a few minutes and most of the time they self soothe.
