Call around to piercing shops, they all have different age limits, some make you wait until they're old enough to consent to have their ears pierced. Just don't get it done with a gun, it causes scar tissue and they barely have any training. Mine still hurt from time to time and they were done at 6 months old, they are also crooked 🤦🏻♀️
For sure a tattoo shop or dedicated piercing shop. For the love of all things holy do not go to Claire’s or places like this. The plastic guns the places like Claire’s used hit a nerve in my sister’s ear and it swelled up and ate the earring, the post and all. She ended up needing minor surgery to remove it.
Thanks you guys There’s a tattoo and piercing shop I asked and they said she was too young for their licence She also warned against going to claires too 🥲 I’ll try and search for some
I guess maybe just remember there’s a reason why a lot of shops won’t do it at this age :(
We did our little girls at Claire's when she turned 6 months and hers was perfectly fine x
@Robyn the guns they use cause internal tissue damage. So just because it turned out ok for you doesn’t mean it couldn’t have been better or that it’s fine for everyone. Tattoo shops are much safer and the ears heal better in general
You don’t want to use the places guns at Claire’s for several reasons but one is that the way the tissues are damaged they are constantly trying to heal for years making them prone to infection and growing over the earring. The scar tissue becomes knotted and you have to repierce them over time if you don’t wear earrings all the time. Plus the infection rates are way higher. At a tattoo shop they are coring the ear and removing tissue so the scaring is flat and heals faster without constantly trying to close the hole. Quicker healing, less pain and less infection.
@Delainey alright love, I was just sharing my experience that's all
Go to a tattoo shop, they usually have a body piercer on staff.
