🩵👶🏻 Noah Reeve 👶🏻🩵

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share our little boy’s early arrival into the world. Noah Reeve was originally due on the 19th of June but surprised us by making his appearance on the 8th of May at 34 weeks exactly, after a whirlwind final few weeks of pregnancy. Throughout my pregnancy, I had a few complications including gestational diabetes and low iron, but things were mostly stable until around 30 weeks when blood tests picked up rising levels linked to preeclampsia — despite me not experiencing many of the typical physical symptoms like high blood pressure, swelling or severe headaches. I was being closely monitored with regular bloods, CTGs and scans, and although I felt relatively okay, my blood results kept climbing. Additionally, Noah’s growth had slowed down, dropping from 93rd percentile to 44th percentile in 3 weeks. On the morning of 8th May, doctors made the decision that it was safest for both Noah and me to deliver him via emergency C-section, when a routine CTG appointment showed that Noah’s heart rate kept dropping. He arrived crying, pink and absolutely perfect, weighing 5lb 2oz - and has already captured our hearts. He started his journey in SCBU, and has done incredibly well, needing only 29% oxygen support for his first 36 hours. Nurses are confident he will be able to graduate from NICU and come and stay with me on postnatal ward later today. I just wanted to share our story to gently raise awareness that preeclampsia doesn’t always look the way you might expect — it can develop subtly, and not everyone gets the classic signs straight away. I’d encourage anyone who feels “not quite right,” even if they can’t pinpoint why, to speak up and get checked. You know your body best. Wishing all you amazing mamas the safest and most beautiful births, whenever your little ones decide to arrive!
