Teething or something else?

So we already thought our little girl was teething (cranky and biting on her hand) but last night she was crying hysterically from 9pm til midnight, then woke every 45 mins to cry again. Have others been so bad from teething? Is this normal? Or could it be something worse. The only thing that would stop her crying was watching ms Apple on YouTube 🫠

Yeah that sounds like teething my son is bad with it rn aswell we give him ibuprofen before bed then calpol if he's cranky in the night or hell be up every hour

@Gemma yeah we gave her both but I guess it's really bad 😕 In the day she isn't so bad, it's easy to distract her, but the night was awful At one point we turned the lights on and gave up on bed for a while and watched videos and had snacks 😭

Yeah I've done that with my son recently it's awful isn't it 😕 have you tried bonjella? That's the only other thing I can think of that would help

If she’s behaving as usual (no fever, no rashes, no diarrhea, etc) then I’ll say it’s teething. When I see her in pain I give her first the teething gel, if it’s not working then, teething powder and my last resort is calpol. I usually only use the teething gel and works. Freezing toys give conform too

Definitely sounds like teething. We alternated calpol and nurofen to try help. Lasted a couple of nights until the tooth cut through the gum for the last tooth.

My little girl was awful when the bottom two cut. I got next to no sleep those nights. One of the nights I actually resorted to walking her round the streets at 3am, because nothing was I tried to get her to sleep worked (neither did the pram which ALWAYS works..) She’s just cutting the top ones and we’ve had a rough few nights but as yet not as bad as those bottoms.

Have you tried Anbesol liquid? It’s been a dreeeam for us! It instantly numbs my little boys gums and within seconds he stops crying/whining/rubbing his mouth/chewing his fingers. Would definitely recommend!

@Fearn we have the gel and calgel, which I think is the same?

@EmmoThe gel slides off apparently - I’d get the liquid

@Rachael yes I've noticed that with the gel, but never found the liquid at my pharmacy, I'll look again.

@Emmo I think I got ours at asda pharmacy if that helps!

Turns out she had a viral infection! After this long night of screaming the next day she had gummy eyes and a temperature, the next day a rash appeared, we took her in to the hospital and her temp was 39.7, so that would explain her awful night.

@Emmo my little girl has a viral infection as well. She came out in a rash on Saturday

@Sarah not nice is it :(

@Emmo no it really isn't. She wasn't herself at all on Saturday and her dad was in work so I had to take her to out of hours to be checked as I wasn't sure what was going on and she is a premature baby.
