Yeah, my baby has quiet days and then perks up! You can try the usual having a sugary or hot drink, lying on your left side and focusing on movement or even a warm bath etc or whatever it is that normally gets your baby moving and if you’re still not happy with movements you should call! I’ve been in several times already for reduced movements so don’t feel like you’re a pest! It’s what they’re there for and to help ease your mind too x
Yes! My baby is exactly the same - been to triage and spoken to midwife who always says they should be in a regular pattern but she definitely isn’t. Some days she moves like crazy and then she has quieter days for sure. I’m also 35 weeks and it’s been like this since she started moving! I tend not to panic if she has one quieter day now, will only ring triage if she doesn’t pick up her movements by the following morning. I’ve also learnt when she’s ‘too’ quiet and then I’ll get her checked out as well. I have spoken to other people who have said their baby had quieter days as well so it’s definitely not just us!
I definitely don’t have a frequent pattern, I have about 5-7 days with loads of movements then 1-2 where I still feel movements all day but there not as strong and more like swooshing. And that is my normal. went to triage when I was worried and it was purely down to baby’s position. Definitely don’t feel like you’re being a pest. That is what triage is for and they would rather see you than not, it also gives you peace of mind. Plus you also get to hear baby’s heartbeat which is always lovely
This is exactly me. I have been in several times now for reduced movements and each time, it's all fine. I feel like a pest when is happening to me.
The midwife said to me think about it like if you couldn’t wake your baby up once they’re here, of course you’d get help asap, you wouldn’t just wait it out, and to not think differently just because we can’t see them. That made me feel better about going in!
Yeah, I get CTGs twice a week now because of it x
Thanks so much guys you’ve reassured me! Will give triage a call shortly and get some advice 🩷
Babies also sleep a lot as well! I have an app called peanut and it says baby should move every two hours with about 10 kicks, but you’ll know their pattern like mines v active really early in morning waking me up then I can’t sleep, then afternoon then evening and repeat. But if you’re ever unsure you should ring up or go get checked
I’ve been in 24 times and had scans every week for the past few weeks. You need to go in even if it’s every day. I will now be delivering my boy early as a result
@El can I ask how early your having him? I’m in the same position as you. Been in loads and scans weekly. Getting induced between 38 and 39 weeks depending on how movements are the next 2 weeks. I’m 35 weeks just now too x
@Chloe I have another scan on Tuesday and date will be set then. He’s shot up from 40th to over 90th so still growing well. The current thinking is 39 weeks ☺️ I’m 36 weeks on Monday
Sometimes I feel him kicking the life out of me, other times I just feel him rolling and swooshing about or sometimes tbh he disappears for a couple hours but for me that’s normal in his pattern 🥲 they always say to go and be checked because you could save your babies life so don’t think you’re pestering anyone !! I think I’ve been 4 times since 27 weeks we are all on the same boat 😂😂😂 give them a call and ask for some advice !
