Please read this ladies.. UTI awareness so it doesn’t happen to you! XX

I just want to post about this as I feel it’s really not spoken about enough. From about 13/14 weeks pregnant I suffered with a UTI the treatment given never fully sorted it out but the symptoms had gone away so I was never to know. Anyways, my baby boy was born 2 weeks ago at 24+1 and he is intensive care fighting hard. All down to an untreated UTI and BV infection. I went into the triage 5 times telling them I was in pain/ bleeding and that something wasn’t right. My active labour lasted 2 hours on 23/4/25 so my baby could not be made to stay inside with a drip etc. the reason for this post is that if you have ANY discharge you think isn’t quite right, you have any type of pain that doesn’t feel quite right, or you are suffering with a water infection. PLEASE PLEASE keep on at them, made sure you get your treatment. This is my second baby and I can’t believe I let this happen to me. Never in a million years did I think I would have a prem baby and he has a long hard fight on his hands. Hoping you all have healthy and enjoy your lovely pregnancies and please say a prayer for my baby boy who now is 26w 4days and 1lb 6oz Xxx

Sending so much love! I hope you've got lots of support around you. I am constantly being treated for UTIs despite not having any symptoms. Thankfully, they are on it with me if they pick up anything in my urine samples. Xx

You’re in my thoughts. I’m Sorry that’s happened- thank goodness your motherly instinct kicked in. I never knew how serious a uti or bv could be tbh. I have had 10 UTIs since January. But I’m lucky the GP get me in and listen to me, I have to take a sample every other week to be checked. Xxx

@Kerry Anne so glad you feel like your getting looked after. I’m very lucky I have an amazing support but I also have a 2 year old which is hard to juggle but I’m sure we will get there xx

@Jodie I know it’s not spoken about enough is it!!! that’s great you feel looked after. Honestly anything not feeling right. Go in and don’t move your bum until you’re happy. X

Sending so much love to you and your baby boy 💛
