Similar issue, but 17 month and 1.5 month old… My struggle is that I bf my toddler for his naps and bedtime, so usually I just try to make sure baby is fed, changed and comfy to be put down in her next to me, while I try to get toddler to sleep in bed with me. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. With the nicer weather I’ve been finding that toddler will happily nap in the pram (as will baby) if we’ve had an active enough morning…
honestly I went through this and i basically put everyone in my bed gave them bottles and decided it was nap time for them😂 if i can time them to go together even better if not miss rachel on for the toddler or monsters inc plenty snacks blankets and he’s happy 9 times out of 10 xx
Following for tips as well 🙈
Feeding to sleep is the quickest and most natural way of getting them to sleep, so I've always gone with that
@Rachel that’s true! I just don’t want to maintain this habit so my husband can also put her down for naps. Also I know so many moms who struggle with this in a long term scenario.
@Taiana babies generally accept that different people put them to sleep in different ways so it's about your husband finding his own ways of doing this. And when you get problems you can respond to them. I wouldn't worry about what might happen in a few months when currently this might be the answer to quick bedtimes and more attention for your toddler. I'd run with it while it works for you
I got a swing for baby and also did a lot of double buggy walks around nap times.
I have the same age gap (24m and 4m). I have to walk them both to sleep or go for a drive. Life is hard enough right now, without worrying about cot naps.
I’m in the exact same boat 2 year old with an almost 4 month old and naps are starting to be an issue… *following*
