@Louise yes unfortunately he has always been fussy although he does seem to be getting worse 😔
My fussy eater has got better recently by saying things like “this helps you grow”’or gives you super powers. But tbh mainly nursery has helped as he sees other children eating. I put raw carrot on his plate one day in hope and to my surprise he demolished it! All because of nursery. But he will not try anything new, even “unhealthy” foods. But I keep offering them. And what has helped is him seeing me eat them. He now loves yoghurt and chia seeds (a great one to say they’re “sprinkles”) for breakfast and now he does too. Don’t be too hard on yourself though it’s not a reflection on you and your parenting. It’s just a toddler being a toddler. He will slowly get there! I was the fussiest eater in the world growing up and now I eat practically everything!
@Emily thank you for such a lovely comment, it's so hard and easy to feel like it's something I have done or haven't done! That's a good idea, I will try that, thanks x
My little girl same age is also a really fussy eater and always has been since about 18 months and we are finding it getting worse. Her safe foods aren’t safe foods anymore and dinner is the worst. Every mealtime is stressful as she will just sit and stare at it. We have tried all sorts of pretend games and encouragement but she will just not try anything new or entertain dinner.
Has he always been fussy? I saw something recently about how they can be particularly fussy at this age and it does get better, got to ride this age out and keep offering stuff. Obviously different if he was always been like it!
