I had my first flare up at 19wks pregnant..the rest of my pregnancy I was so scared to eat and had multiple horrible flare up’s, had to wait 3m pp to get mine removed bc I had a C-section but I will say I’m soooo happy that shit is gone, people kept telling me the recovery was worse then a C-section and the only difference I noted was that the pain was immediate woke up feeling the pain, unlike with my csection(didn’t really feel pain until 2nd day due to the anesthesia they used)..but after a week I felt so much better, was still scared to eat for a while but I pretty much eat whatever now, but I will say certain things make me have to use the bathroom right away, like bubbly drinks or fried foods sometimes
Following as due to have mine out soon too! Really bad flare up during pregnancy x
My issues started in October (6-ish months after I had my daughter). Flare ups weren’t constant, so I pushed surgery off until it got HORRIBLE in March. Had mine out March 3rd! Super quick procedure, mine was done robotically. Worst part was the gas pain post-op. Just had to keep walking and moving! I’m back to normal - just have to let your body adjust. Wishing you the best!!
@Skylar how the heck did you get it so fast?! I had my diagnosis (second flare up, leaving me with gallstones in my tubes) and if it wasn't for my most recent flare up, I would be waiting until August 20th for my SCAN before my pre op 🥲 Even last week, Saturday - Monday full blown pain, went in via ambulance & was discharged & back a few days later & kept in as I had jaundice and I still have no idea when it'll be removed. Just been given my camera test date
Omg!! That is insane - I am so sorry you’re dealing with that. I went to the ED both times. They wanted me to stay my first time but I left AMA. Second time I was admitted and had surgery that day!
@Skylar I genuinely think the difference is that your healthcare is private, because the NHS are just over run & stretched so thin they're basically waiting for me to go septic. I'm literally having attacks every two weeks at this point
Mine was prior to my pregnancy, I got really poorly (gall stone left my gallbladder and got stuck so I had jaundice and then got sepsis) but post op I was fine, I had a drain in my tummy for 4 hours? Then was tired when I got home and slight pain, but staying top of ur medications will help. I just stayed in bed or on the sofa for the first day or two and then I was up and moving around ☺️
