Combo feeding question ….

My little one is EBF, 4 months old. He sleeps 3-4 hours (going down around 9pm) and then wakes every 1-2 hours until a 6/6.30am wake. Anyone who has introduced a formula feed at night; has this helped with sleep?

I EBF however to get a decent sleep I also pump and give from the bottle which allows us to sleep a bit longer. So during the day she’s on boob and at night she is mainly on bottles which I believes helped is so far.

Why do you think it’s helping to give bottled BM through the night and not from the boob?

Yep we combi feed with formula or a mix or formula and breast milk bottles overnight, he does tend to sleep for 3-4 hours between bottles, my partner can then do night feeds while I pump and my boobs get a break from a slightly awkward latch 😂

I’m just trying to get away from being used as a dummy overnight - for a baby that will not take an actual dummy 😏and more sleep would be lovely 🥰
