We transitioned our girl a few weeks back and she was absolutely fine! We started with a 4 tog but since it's been warmer/over 20 degrees at night, we have a lighter 2.5 tog and she's been fine. She span around in her cot for the first few days and we woke to her with her legs sticking through the bars, but it didn't seem to wake her and she stopped doing it on night 4 and now loves her duvet. So if that happens when you first transition, don't let it discourage you as it's just them adjusting, but they work out their boundaries quickly! X
I’d also like to know too, as I’m anxious about the transition! My little one keeps trying to take his sleeping bag off before bed- I don’t know if I’m ready for the quilt yet 😬
Not here for advice, actually for more questions.. my baby literally roams around his cot all night. I put him down head up, in 15min he is the other way around like feet to where his head was. I'm scared that a quilt is not safe. But I'm running out of options too, not because he takes the sleepbag off but because he's on the last size
We transitioned a few weeks back just because we’re due to have a long weekend in a caravan at the end of the month and need her to be in a bed for room 😂😂 I was so worried about this as she moves around a lot at night, however she surprises me everytime I’m worried about something 🥰 She’s sleeping longer now if anything. So I did it super gradually, though not sure they even need this tbh. Introduced a pillow, couple of weeks later introduced a duvet, couple of weeks later introduced her bed. I think the warm weather has helped and I did dress her warmly to start with, but she’s done so well I don’t know why I worried so much 😂 I think it’s helped she likes playing a game we call night nights which is basically tucking her in, from this I think she knows how to get the duvet back to where she wants it, therefore doesn’t get cold at night. Hope that helps! X
My daughter was the same with taking her sleepbag off. We transitioned about two weeks ago when the weather was quite warm. Started by lying her on top of the duvet with her head on the pillow, she took to the pillow straight away. As the weather got cooler, we started putting her under the duvet. She still moves around quite a bit and has gotten used to it quite quickly. We brought the pillow and duvet set from h&m. It's very light, so perfect for the summer months. They have some lovely duvet cover sets, too. Hopefully, he takes to it smoothly. Good luck, x
