My last job treated me poorly and tried to do everything to get me fired when I was pregnant with my second. They also be doing illegal things and I could’ve took them to court but I didn’t want to go through the hassle. I just wanted to cut all ties and did my resignation letter before my return date. Even then, I didn’t get my maternity leave pay from them either. I also tried to get a hold of HR to talk about my pregnancy and my rights but it kept going through a third party and I respectfully told them I wanted to speak to HR directly and never heard anything back.
Sarah, they were trying to get you fired during your pregnancy? If only they knew you can’t get fired when you are pregnant. At the time..I was working you are under protection. Idk now that everything has changed. Im trying to keep up with everything but I hope you didn’t get fired! Thats news to me but I’m glad you shared
My coworker did while we were both still working there. We were both fired soon thereafter and she was even interviewed on the local news (tv) bc of it. There’s a legal discrepancy due to how he purposefully set up his business(es) so that it was under the amount of employees the law protects (apparently the law only protects pregnancy discrimination if the business has a larger amount of employees- ridiculous!!!)
My 3rd baby, I was actually straight up fired. Reported it immediately and it's still in process almost 2yrs later. "Protected" is a joke in my state.
@themamattorney is a good follow on IG for all things maternal rights ❤️
Sounds like the process is pretty rubbish for everyone wherever we're from.
No and it’s under protection. Or was when I was working before trump signed stuff
