Sorrel

Can someone give me feedback on the name sorrel. Really like it, google is telling me it’s an old fashioned term for red hair. Does anyone know someone called this? Or think it’s not a name!? (For a boy)

There's a woman on this app with that name! I think its a very lovely name.

It’s a Jamaican drink lol

I've only ever known/met girls called Sorrel, however, I'm pretty sure it is a unisex name. And it is a plant, so with herbs/plant names being so in, it works with current trends, whilst the name itself being unique

Sorrel is also an edible plant found wild in the U.K., a bit like a spinach plant. Think it’s a pretty nature name 🥰

I grew up with horses so it’d be a no go for me 🙈 But could make a pretty girl name if that’s not a common association in your area!

I knew a female dog with the name and thought it was nice! It's a herb isn't it? It's also a drink in the Caribbean. Maybe US too?

Personally, not a big fan and prefer the name Soren but ultimately it’s your decision. You need to love the name! Good luck! X

I’ve met a girl named sorrel never heard of it for a boy

It's cute

It's a plant. As someone with a plant name I approve.

Reminds me of the shoe brand 🙈

It’s definitely a name 😉 I’ve met two other Sorrels in my life both girls, but I feel like it could be a boy name too in the same way that Sage or Rowan can go either way. Could always go for something more clearly a boy name as a middle? Like any name it’s not going to be for everyone but I often get compliments on it. I think it strikes the balance between unusual but not totally out there and made up!

I think it’s a lovely name. I’ve only ever met 1 Sorrel in real life. She was a red head incidentally. I love it but my husband thinks it’s sounds too much like sorrow. I’ve always thought of it as a girls name though…
