Giggling at nothing

We’ve noticed our baby will be looking and giggling off in different directions, but there is nothing and no one there, just blank walls. Is this normal?

Yeah mine did it too. A wall or ceiling may not be interesting to you but don't forget everything is new to them 🥰

Thank you. I was worried that in a few years time she’ll start telling me sees dead people 🫣😂

@Beth nah they just don't come with a full sense of humour installed to know to wait for things that are actually funny 🤣 my baby laughs at me if i shake my head at her hahaha (as well as inber sleep)

Some baby’s experience synesthesia so maybe looking at sound? :)

In Buddhism they do say that babies and dogs can see and sense spirits. So nothing alarming, esp if they’re trying to make your baby laugh, but it could be someone from above looking over your baby, a guardian angel or a passed love one appearing to the babies. You can take that however you like, but I do believe it myself yes.

It's normal depending on certain factors because everything is new to them so even the smallest thing can make them laugh, cry, or be like ew but also if it's starting to get concerning like if it's only certain walls or objects every time it could be them seeing something we can't because baby's and children up to 10 are more prone to seeing spirits and things of that nature but it could also be a sign of schizophrenia if you get concerned I would try having them tested for schizophrenia but if it's not that it could be spiritual or just the wall interests them

@Tanisha LMAO schizophrenia girl are you kidding me her profile says her baby is 2m old how do you “test” a newborn baby for schizophrenia lol 😵‍💫 you can barely do a hearing test on a newborn without having to retest it in a couple months 🤦🏻‍♀️ babies giggle, laugh. Whether or not they’re laughing at a spirit we’ll never know but schizophrenia is a REACH.

Mine thought the ceiling light and fridge were the funniest things ever.

@Kellie on newborn is really not recommended for testing she said baby not newborn it might be a reach but still a possibility and should be checked around toddler, teen, or adult age if showing signs and at the advice of their health care provider

my LO laughs when I sneeze. God knows why that's funny

@Kellie that’s a lovely thought, I mean as long as she finds them funny and not scared I’ll take it

It’s normal in my culture we believe they’re playing with angels :)

I am NOT saying this is the case but my now 3 yr old would do that and he’s on the spectrum, although my 9m old does the same but he reaches out to whoever it is making him laugh. I think it’s my papa

@Sophia this was my first thought and wondered if they start showing signs as early as a few months old
