I always say "she-in" but I could be wrong. Sometimes I say "this belongs in the garbage"
So happy you posted this I've been wondering forever š
https://www.elle.com.au/fashion/fashion-news/why-is-shein-so-bad-27846/
Sheen
@Dea she wasnāt asking this, simply our pronunciation of it.
@Rheo OK thanks. I just always assume people donāt know because if they did, thereās no way weād keep supporting it. Have a nice Tuesday
@Dea a lot of people know about it, but sometimes affordable clothing is needed.
Weāre not pronouncing it cause weāre not buying from there
I say sheen, but a lot of people say she-in.
Its she-in , derived from āshe insideā
It is actually She-in.
I pronounce it shayn like rein š I see I am very wrong
Thanks all for enlightening me! She-in is a ridiculous name isn't it š
I donāt know. I type it out way more than I need to say it. Probably sheen. My fav shop lol. I can get all my self care and hobby stuff in the one package lol. Convenient. I look amazing but if I didnāt tell people they wouldnāt know Iām decked head to toe in shein. lol.

Shay in.........I said this in the post office and the clerk laughed and went oh you mean Sheen š¤£š¤£š¤£ fudge knows
Itās She-in I believe their saying was once āshes in styleā
@Dea Iāve heard of this and it doesnāt stop me from purchasing from them there cloths are cheap and super cute. They actually sell the same items on Amazon but cheaper
@Rylee thatās why you just donāt buy from stores called GSLPNF or some shit
Their brand is or used to be called sheinside so itās She-In
@Dea many other companies have been accused of the same yet sell their products for way more than shein and dosent stop people shopping there e.g H&M and Nike⦠Shein is affordable for people who are living in a cost of living crisisā¦
@Brooke Thanks for engaging! Yeah, not into supporting those brands either, especially as mid range to higher end brands have been documented destroying backstock to maintain demand. I understand occasionally a person needs to do what they need to do. When I couldnāt find any maternity wear that felt remotely comfortable at my local thrift stores, I did order a few things online. I think the problem is when we accept a norm of buying new things constantly at the detriment of other human beings and our own planet instead of using secondhand resources and leaning on quality, staples and fixing things when they need minor repairs. Just my two cents.
I also just want to say to anyone learning this stuff and kind of getting the ick about fast fashion: Itās OK to shift your habits if something feels wrong. And it doesnāt have to happen overnight or be a dramatic 180. We used to use a ton of glitter in our crafts and then I learned it can get into our water streams, never break down and harm wildlife and even get into our seafood so I donāt buy it anymore. Just not worth the benefits. Weāll slowly use up the stuff we have, but it doesnāt mean that I was a bad person cause we used a lot of it- just that weāre always growing. The more we learn, (hopefully) the more we grow. š¤
I pronounce it like sheen
