Complaint to NHS

Has anyone complained or went down the PALS route? What has been peoples experiences if so? I’ve had a really traumatic experience in regard to secondary haemorrhage, retained placenta and hypovolemic shock. It came on all of a sudden and I lost 1.8 litres of blood just in hospital and in D&C and estimated 2 litres at home as I was stuck on the toilet with clots the size of my hand and blood gushing from me for them 2 hours straight. From the first gushing of bloody starting at 6 and me coming out of recovery at 10. I want to complain and go down that route I’m just scared and unsure on what to expect

Hi, i have complained about nhs and took the PALS route, this was due to trauma within my pregnancy and afterwards, the pals team didn't take my complaints into consideration and got all information wrong, I have been left feeling even worse

I’m looking to go down this route for breach of privacy

@Rachel ahh I’m so sorry you were left to feel worse

Ask for a debrief with the clinical team that treated you firstly Go into that with a written list of Qs you want answers to This way you can organise your thoughts and also not get led off track when discussing events plus you can jot down their responses and read them back and ask have I got that part correctly documented ? Then approach PALS with the points you didn’t feel had valid answers Debriefs can help with post traumatic stress also xx Unfortunately most things like this are due to poor communication - which in emergency events can be understood as they just need to act quickly ti safeguard you but it’s totally reasonable to ask for explanations in retrospect

I've made a couple of complaints and have to be honest both were a complete waste of time. The trust is only ever interested in covering their own back and therefore denying any responsibility and not taking any accountability. I barely even got an apology.
