I was advised to leave them in the sterile sleeve / packaging. They removed the caps in a lot of trusts as tired parents tried to feed with the caps on and they said it was a choking hazard. X
Used the ones the midwives gave me and used the sterile sleeve to keep the colostrum in there and then used the same clear bag to keep them in the freezer
Thanks all! That makes sense about the caps being a choking hazard, didn’t even think of that. Have just been out to get some labels and zip up sandwich bags and will pop syringes back in the sleeve/packaging
put the caps on (if provided), pop it into the sleeve then into a freezer bag or container and then into the freezer
I didnt like the syringes the midwives game me for the exact same reason. Bought a bundle of 50 on amazon which included caps for 6£. I also bought storage labels, which I would write my name, date and time on before storing them in the freezer. That way it wouldn’t get mixed up when i took them with to the hospital. Small tip, write the amount of ml on the label if the label covers the ml on the syringe. Hope this helps 💐
