Please comment ages or any more information on signs of them not wanting their nap anymore.
My son’s been a hassle to put down for his nap but when he doesn’t have it he’s sluggish and tired and hard to keep awake so I’m not sure if he’s ready or getting their.

Learn more about our guidelines. She drops her naps for maybe 4 days then it hits her and she'll have a 3 hour nap the next day 🤣
@Jess yeahhh my son done that for like 2 daysss and had a huge nap the day after but he’s always tired throughout the day without it too but it’s like he refuses to fall asleep when it’s nap time too 😂😂😂
Same I put her down and she shouts through the monitor 'wake up wake up...me downstairs please' 🤣🤣 I make dinner earlier and she's in bed by 7pm on the days she doesn't nap
My LG would fall asleep at 11 pm and she would nap the time she wanted, I didn't wake her up. I shortened her naps to 1h, but it didn't work, she would fall asleep at 11 pm. anyway. Then I decided to drop the naps and it was a disaster. She was so tired therefore so grumpy and whining. Really don't know what and how to do. Nothing works.
@Jess loooool she’s funny 😂😂😂 yh when he doesn’t nap his sleep in the night is much better too
@Olga yesss this was me too my son never had a routined nap for majority of his life he would always just fall asleep when he wanted but it was so hard to plan days out and get things done not knowing when he’s nap plus he only likes napping in his bed so it was tuff. But only recently in the last few months I managed to get him to take his naps at 10-11am if I waked up at 6am but now he seems not tired at all until it’s wayyyy too late too nap at all 😩😵💫😵💫 so I dunno if he’s wanted to stop naps or if he just wants them later but the later they are I can’t go anywhere bcos he won’t nap in his pram and then if overly tired 😩😩😩
I think some of the signs are taking ages to go down for the nap or taking ages to fall asleep at night or they’re not staying asleep for long during naps, waking up early etc. Those kinda things! My LG can manage to go without a nap during the day and usually is in bed asleep by 6pm! When she’s at the childminders she still has a nap but I’ve asked them to reduce it to 1hr max. She did it yday and she still took awhile to fall asleep so I think she is ready to drop it completely tbf
@Carys yes im thinking my sons near enough at the same stage just that he seems overly tired without them too, but then hes also naturally went without the nap of his own accord and then been overly tired without so im just winging it rn and letting him do and he pleases 😩😂😂😂
My little boy doesn't nap, he goes to bed at 6pm and has done for probably 3 months now.
He will very occasionally fall asleep in the car, but will usually wake up after 20-30 minutes.
We knew he was ready because he took forever to fall asleep at bedtime, and his naps were getting later and later in the day x
My oldest was 3 and it was because he started nursery full time. Otherwise he would happily have an hour in the afternoon x
@Hannah thank for this yeh my son seems to go bed on time but not want to nap but seems to struggle without them so I think he’s just slowly getting to the point he’ll drop his
@Lena lolll I kinda want my son to keep his day naps lowkey so I have that hour of quiet 😂😂😂😂 so I wish
Haha I no. I'm so glad he kept his nap for that long. But some days now at 5 he will fall asleep in the afternoon still not often but 5 is a much easier age anyway x
