First midwife appointment

I can’t book my first midwife appointment because no one is picking up the phone at the antenatal clinic at NNUH. Anyone else finding it difficult to get through to a midwife?

Have you registered your pregnancy with your GP? Your midwife appointments are normally at doctors practice, not NNUH :) x

@Charlotte yeah but they said to ring the antenatal unit at NNUH

https://www.nnuh.nhs.uk/maternity-self-referral-form/ this is the self ref link

Most first midwife appt bookings in England are now done after you’ve self referred. The midwifery team gets in touch with you not the other way round xx

You can self refer online rather than calling x

You can self refer online on the NNUH website then you have to call up and book an appt. It took me multiple attempts to get through trying all different times of the day! Got there in the end.

@Alice yeah I’m having this issue. I’ve been calling all week but no one’s picked up 🫠

You don’t call them you fill in the form and they will contact you

Sometimes their to busy to call, and once filling in the form they call you they literally called me within 1 day. And when I called my gp they said do the form and wait for a call

@Olivia I filled the form in over a week ago and no one had called but luckily someone picked up today.
