Helicoper parent

Do you let your 3 year old run off on their own at the park out of your sight? We were at a party at a splash park and when we arrived the other mum said her little boy is somewhere in the park. And freely let him just run off wherever he wanted. Personally that send chills down my spine just thinking about it and would definitely stay close/keep my eye at all times on my toddler. Is this normal or am I a helicopter parent?

No absolutely not. My 3year old is always always in sight!! Think that’s just asking for potential danger. Personally I would never risk my child’s safety like that!!

No

No.

No way! My 3 year old always has an adult near; me, dad, nan, grandad etc.

I took my nearly 3 yo to the park the other day and I took my eyes off him for a couple of seconds while I put the breaks on the pushchair and made sure his little sister was ok and I heard a thud followed by crying. It was my little boy who supposedly fell (there was a girl stood behind him and my LB has a speech delay so wasn’t able to tell me what happened) That happened in the space of seconds so I always try to have eyes on him

Absolutely not!
