Newborn co sleeping - chest / c curl

Please can you share any experience in bed sharing with your newborn. Is it safest for them to sleep on your chest, as they’re so tiny, or in the c curl on their back from when they come out of the hospital. Thank you

Has to be the c position from birth. When a lot older can go on your chest but while so little the c position is protective to stop you from rolling on your baby in your sleep and keeps them flat which protects their airways

Have a look at the Happycosleeper on Instagram. She has some great stuff on chest sleeping as safely as possible. A lot of people chest sleep with their newborns but its a personal choice and you have to do everything from the advice to make it safe as you can. My baby slept on my chest from about 2 weeks til 7 weeks and then she co-slept. It can be done safely. As Catherine said, look into happycosleeper and make sure you are being safe

There’s a happy co sleepers Facebook group too you can ask for advice, post your set up for people to let you know how to improve etc. Isadora has done a lot of research for us and me and my baby have loved chest sleeping. In the night when he wiggles I just pop him on my chest and he falls back asleep immediately

We both slept so much better like that. And when it was feeding time she’d just start rooting and I’d feel so didn’t get to crying. I miss those moments!

We started with chest sleeping and then to C curl. I find C curl easier for me but initially my LO wanted to be held all the time and putting him down always woke him up.

Always C position - no guidance will encourage chest sleeping when parent is also asleep. Are you from the uk? I
