I had a work conference and it was the 1st time I was away from bb, she was ~2.5 🫠 I night weaned cold turkey with that trip, she fell asleep with her dad after some tears, but we had established a routine of reading books! Her dad showed her a movie when she wouldn't fall asleep as little compromise. She ended up falling asleep around 12:30am, which was a lot better than we thought! Now for my 2nd i can't think of a better way bc its hard to wean in stages. She was fine :)
I’m currently working on this with my little girl she’s 8 months old. We do her bedtime routine and then I give her the final bottle of the night around 7:00-7:30. She’ll wake up around midnight instead of giving her bottle I wrap her back up in her blanket and snuggle her and usually she’ll go back to sleep until around 7:00
She does have some rough nights where she fights going back to sleep but I give her a bottle as a comfort thing and there’s no milk or anything in it. Sometimes at night she’ll wake up and get fussy then find her bottle and go back to bed
@Yesenia you give her just the empty bottle with no milk? Does she use a paci too?
@Mallory she doesn’t like her pacifiers. We’ve spent MONEYYYYY trying to figure out one similar to her bottle and she doesn’t take any of them. So out solution is just an empty bottle
@Yesenia well I guess that kinda works out😅 my boy will not go to sleep without some bottle & then having his paci in his mouth lol 🤦🏼♀️
@Mallory my girl literally just wants some comfort and she used to like her pacifiers but then she just changed her mind and only wanted her bottle😭And she won’t go to sleep without it. I even tried like just the top and that wasn’t good enough for her😂
