@Jasmine I have freedom now.
Im just telling you my experience. I had freedom before, I had traveled the world, used to go out with my friends but it is just different knowing you can jump in the car whenever you would like for a road trip or late night drive etc. I really noticed that getting to appointments are easier.
@Jasmine same here! I do feel more free now to go wherever I want, especially if it’s somewhere far. My husband drives but I also learnt just so I had that skill set in case of anything and also to get my own car one day. I think just having that skill in your pocket is good! I know people who just have a license and don’t own a car but will book Zipcars when needed to travel. I guess if you live in an area where you have many transportation options then a car isn’t really needed. As they also are expensive to upkeep!
@Holly 100%! I think that’s really important to mention that my partner drives as well but we both still enjoy the benefits of me driving. I have a car but brought a cheap and old car outright (for just over 1k so not to break the bank) and do my month outgoing for driving is less than £200. Less when I include what I no longer spend on public transport!
@Jasmine I don’t like road trips or late night rides and I get to my appointments on time.
The less people on the road lol the better my driving experience. If only more people thought like you @Natalia not that i would begrudge anyone else the convenience of having a car day to day. I love that i can drive but hate traffic.
I was like that when I was younger. I didn’t learn to drive until 22. Then I did so I could find a job in my field which meant leaving my home town thus my parents couldn’t drive me. After I got my license, I realized what I was missing out on. My husband still does 99% of the driving when we are together, but I can get to work, fun outings, etc. I think it’s a good idea to know how to drive in case of an emergency. You never know when you need to take your kid somewhere or rent a car to drive to an urgent family matter farther away.
I hate driving personally. People are just reckless and stupid and crazy I love my car though. Worked my ass off to buy it in cash 💰
@Natalia well it sounds like you have everything perfectly worked out. If you don’t like doing anything then great. Now sure what the reason is for your post. But great that everything’s good for you!
i don’t think it’s the greatest thing lol but i think everyone should know and be able to drive, in case of emergencies or something. plus it gives you independence, don’t you want to be able to take your kids places?
It’s freedom. Also, what if you are home alone with baby and need to take them somewhere. I’m always confused how people don’t drive but everyone has a different story! If you’re ok with it then other opinions don’t matter :)
@Izzie my kid is not old enough to go to places so it’s not a problem. I am independent. That makes no sense just because I don’t have car/ can’t drive I’m not independent? I don’t ask anyone for rides. I walk or take the bus or Uber.
@Jasmine the amount of people that are trying to change my mind on I should drive.
i’m not trying to change your mind. if that works for you then great, just offering a different perspective. your kid will have to go places eventually

@Izzie I’m a teach them that you can’t always depend on a car cause you can’t as well as a bus and trains, etc.
Cars are more reliable than public transport 🤷🏻♀️
@Liv personally not really.
@Natalia you don’t need to own a car to have a drivers license. If you were in a pinch, you could rent or borrow a car.
@Nicole wouldn’t want to. Personally it’s a waste of money
I don’t drive anymore by choice. But I still have a car. Too many what ifs that make me anxious to not have it. Simple as that. 🤷🏼♀️ I mean I understand you wanting to defend it because like what 30yr old doesn’t drive. Blah blah. Buttt who cares. It’s not their problem. As long as you can function and don’t see yourself needing it for any reason. Who cares. I still use mine here and there but that’s about it.
Girl im 28 🤣. & still dont. I tried and my bf had me try on his car but then i hit our neighbors car and wrecked my bf front bumper. So after tht i lost confidence in even attempting to get behind the wheel again. Hes paying like dan near $1100 to get his car fixed 😭
As long as you can get where you need to go, that’s all that matters. Millions of people don’t have cars-look at SF or NY.
@Natalie im fron nyc thts y i never hurried to do it.
I think I felt the same until I learnt to drive.. I didn’t learn until I was 23 and now the freedom I have and the convenience is amazing.
