IBS struggles in early pregnancy

I’ve always had IBS but since finding out I’m pregnant it’s been in overdrive. I’m worried the extra inflammation is dangerous for the pregnancy 😓 Things that don’t usually cause my IBS to flare up now are. The other night I had my worst flare up ever it was so painful with such intense stomach pains. After that I was constipated for 4 days and today I’m just pooping water 🫠 Does anyone with IBS have any advice or is anyone going through something similar? I’m avoiding my triggers but my IBS seems to have a mind of its own.

Feel you! I was hospitalised with mine 🤦🏼‍♀️ there are sashes called movacol I think that’s how you spell it! I take these twice a day and have managed to regulate my IBS, I’ve also started drinking ginger/mint tea. Flare ups are just awful so I feel you! Never thought pregnancy would make it this bad. Speak to your IBS team if you can see if they can help too? Try to drink plenty of water. X

@Steph My GP is pretty useless to be honest but I will give it a go x

Awh I’m sorry to hear! Could you ask to be referred to an IBS specialist depending where you are? I’m North east based and Durham have a good team x
