Anyone recommend any breast pumps? I’m so unsure what to do in terms of manual or electric wearable.
I was thinking of starting out with the medela manual one and then if I need the wearables go for them

Medela has various kind they are pretty good
I loved my zomee z2 with wearable cups. It’s a portable pump.
What is your goal with pumping? To exclusively pump? Combo breast and pump? Pump when needed?
I’ve been using the Momcozy S9 Pro electric wearable for 18 weeks and highly recommend
Spectra is the best!
@Claire I’m hoping to exclusively breastfeed but also wanting to build up a supply incase it’s needed or my hubbie would like to feed baby with bottles further down the line. Keeping all options open but without formula feeding
@Donna Woods aw great this is on my list!
I would recommend measuring your flange size and making sure that the pump you buy works for your size. My work had medela symphony (professional grade) and I massively struggled with it as the flange sizes just didn’t work. I had a cheap tommee tippee which worked much better and gave me more milk. We didn’t buy the pump until after the baby came and breastfeeding was working but didn’t end up using it for the first 9 months as I found it so hard to fit in in the early days as you feed so regularly and then have no milk in between, and by the time pumping was a possibility, baby completely refused to take the bottle, so we gave up!
@Karey-Ann it tends to come with a 24mm flange but you can buy inserts on Amazon so as @Jennifer suggests, definitely measure your nipples and get the correct sizing :)
I underestimated the importance of measuring this with my first and ended up with a lot of pain until I fixed it. You can get different sizes but some pumps it is difficult to get larger sizes or the range for the larger sizes is really big (and I found this didn’t really work).
@Claire this is a UK group. We don’t have insurance
