Mum and dad kissing their baby on the lips?
No right or wrong answer, I’m just curious :)

Learn more about our guidelines. My family has never done that as a tradition but my spouse’s has. I made it very clear to my spouse that I don’t feel comfortable with it and I think it can be confusing for baby but I also don’t want anyone passing her their virus (potentially herpes!!) and germs.
for the safety of the baby, its a no from me.
we as adults carry so many heavy germs, mature viruses, kiss other adults, put things on our lips such as cans and bottles that are not the cleanest without any question so to pass all that onto the baby, no ta.
from a maternal/paternal way, it’s understandable why parents do it tbh i don’t even think there is a reason except they love their baby so they kiss the baby but still not something i will be doing.
Nothing wrong with it
I grew up around people who did and who didn’t. I’m sure I will at some point when I’m scramble kissing them. Ya know kissing all over their face. I might brush their lips but it is not my intention to kiss my baby on the lips. Especially as a former csa victim I’m very paranoid about my baby getting mixed signals about good and bad touch as they grow.
I don’t intentionally do it but my boy kisses me on the lips so I can’t really say no to him 🤣
I don’t have much choice with my little ones. I kiss them on their faces. They insist on kissing me on my lips.
I personally don’t do it I just don’t see a reason to I’ll do the cheek or forehead or something but my child’s father does the lips I don’t like it but hey..
