Learn more about our guidelines.That’s how I feel about birth control right now like I definitely want to get on it I am not trying to have another so soon, I plan on breastfeeding but keep hearing it can affect milk supply 😩 so if anything we will be using condoms
My sister has the copper IUD. She chose it because she ended up with 2 under 2 when she tried not having an IUD/trusting condoms. She said it did not affect milk supply but does make periods more intense.
I’m pregnant with my first and I plan on doing an IUD after birth as well just because I know I’ll be too tired to keep track of any type of daily pill.
@Jackie ugh really must be nice , my body gets messed up from any birth control with only progestin in it . I tried depo TWICE & that made me depressed and miserable
@Jackie definitely gone look into copper iud especially if it’s non hormonal
im getting a copper iud when i give birth, they can either do it all at the same time if you give birth naturally or at your 6 week appointment! i’ve hated every type of other bc ive been on and i struggle with the idea of weight gain so my obgyn suggested the best option! my mom and aunts have it as well and have been very happy with it
My husband and I do a mix of natural family planning (Natural Cycles app), pull out, and condoms. I'm super fertile and it's worked really well for us!
I had the nexplanon for 3 years from 2016-2019 and I was FAT. Mind you I did nothing to lose weight either, I didn’t have good eating habits but that’s the one I’ve tried that I would do again since I’ve come to understand my relationship with food. I went from weighing almost 175 when I had it to 130 once I removed it and ate better and worked out.
But I’m assuming that’s a risk with every hormonal birth control.
@Brenda I had Nexplanon for one year and bled almost constantly. Awful experience, never again
@Emily I’m sure everyone responds differently, I had my usual period with a decent flow and super short cycles of 3-4 days.
@Brenda oh absolutely!
The best birth control I would advise anyone to get is the arm implant now the only side affect that I had was weight gain but beside that I loved it
I refuse to use a Birth Control that affects hormones. I'll be having both my tubes removed during my upcoming c section
