I considered it but like Helen said, I think it’ll give me more anxiety and be one more thing to stress about.
We’ve got one, I think we used it for the first few weeks then we stopped using it. Only because we would get baby dressed for bed etc then forget to put the sock on so in the end we’ve just stopped using it. If you are going to use it religiously then it’s great. The camera is good quality but I think I would rather a baby monitor that isn’t linked to my phone. If you want to see baby then you have to open the app etc which is annoying if your doing other things on your phone
Had it, never used it. Had a bedside bassinet and cameras instead
I went with the Snuza HeroMD over the Owlet sock as the Snuza is endorsed by The Lullaby Trust. Highly recommend. It’s also much cheaper
I have a snuzahero, it’s a little clip that goes onto their nappy and it detects movement (breathing) and if there’s no movement for 5 seconds it will beep and flash red. I wouldn’t be able to sleep if it wasn’t on my baby, it gives me peace of mind and I got it of Vinted for £20. I think they’re £100 to buy brand new xx
I have the owlet and used it since he was born! I think it can be a really helpful tool if you are anxious but it’s so important to find that balance I don’t check it constantly and almost forget he has it on sometimes tbh as I still manually check he’s okay and breathing but it’s good to know it’s just there in case of anything But you know yourself best and what works for your anxiety!
I really wanted one due to being nervous but never ended up getting one and im glad i didnt as i feel it would’ve made me more on edge x
I bought one recently but haven’t used it yet as baby is due in sept. But I’m in two minds about it, always heard good things about it but also have seen it plays up and not always accurate. But my biggest fear is the radiation it emits as it's constantly in contact with baby which concerns me.
Use it every night. Put it on, I check it’s working before shutting my eyes and that’s it. It helps me massively and I wouldn’t be without it now. LO is 6 months next week.
I got one and I use it since my baby is like 1 mo. I absolutely love it . And just to say one night just before Christmas my baby was absolutely fine happy she was eating well and the same night the sock showed high heart beating . We went up to her room staight away and she had temperature she was very ill .. ended up a&e thanks for the owlet sock . I m not sharing this to scare other mums just my opinion xx for us is very helpful x
I have it and I love it! I use it only at night time😊
I think it depends on you and your baby. I used it religiously with my first born and had all the alarms on, but he also went grey and limp in my arms less than 6 hours after being born and spent a week in the NICU. So it was helpful to ease my worry after that trauma. I still had it for my second child and we used it probably 80% of the time but I had a “normal” birth/hospital stay with him as opposed to his big brother. Both are happy and healthy and growing up like they are supposed to and we never had it alarm but I liked the peace of mind.
Best thing I’ve ever bought got a second one for my daughter due any time now my 18 month old still wears his
I was looking at getting one but feel it would give me massive anxiety and I’d be checking constantly. And would end up getting obsessed and paranoid about it. I do keep getting tempted though! At a baby class I was at they didn’t recommend them particularly for that reason and they often fall off so give false readings. I’ve never used one though. Xx
