I’ve been awake for 48 hours now and had around 2 hours sleep in naps in total. Had an elective section on Wednesday and had a really rough recovery and still in hospital now. I’m BF and so close to a break down already and it’s only day 2. She has been on my boob since 7pm. Someone please tell me this isn’t going to be the case all day every day! I’m so close to giving in and doing formula 😫😫

You might be feeling this way as you’re still in the hospital and there’s a lot of noises and visits from nurses and doctors? You’ll probably feel a lot more relaxed/comfortable at home and you may be able to fully rest and recover.
That being said, just remember regardless of how you feed a fed baby is a happy baby!
It gets easier trust me, I had my second c-section yesterday and I really struggled with recovery from my first but this time it’s not been so bad, just keep topped up on your pain killers. You should try expressing and getting someone else to bottle feed the baby with the expressed milk to give you a rest will also help to increase your supply which may be why she’s been feeding off you so much as you might not be supplying enough to fill her up at the moment. Have a chat with bf team at the hospital they will also be able to help and advise you, don’t give up mumma youve got this
I had my c section last Friday and was lucky to come home Saturday even after some complications. Keep on top of the pain meds and don’t feel bad if you need to top up with formula in tiny amounts as your milk will take longer to come in after a c section mine only came in fully yesterday, I topped up with formula for 2 days then once I could pump enough on Sunday gave a bottle a long with the boob. It does get easier xx
My had a vaginal birth but had to go to theatre afterwards as my placenta wouldn’t come out. I ended up staying in hospital for 6 days due to low iron and BP. I was like you, hadn’t slept the first 48 hours and god knows how I was functioning. I couldn’t BF at first so had to cup feed her a few times, so when I switched to BF she was so difficult to latch on. So meant I was constantly feeding her and trying for nearly 2/3 hours a go with her 30-40 nap times in between.
I’ve been home now for 5 days and it’s honestly gotten better already. I think just being in hospital makes everything more overwhelming too.
You’ll get there though, us women and our bodies are amazing at what we can do for our little ones. It’ll be worth it 🥰
