Hey girlies,
I’m 33 weeks and literally can’t do anything. my energy levels are at an all time LOW and even getting out of bed is a struggle. Mentally I really want to get things done but I keep having waves of tiredness and weakness and have to sit down so physically I can’t. sometimes I spend days just not able to do chores etc because of how exhausted I am!! And if I do manage to get chores down I have to keep sitting down! could literally fall asleep on the spot! Sometimes I get really weak/achey hands and feet… any of this normal? Can anyone relate?

Learn more about our guidelines.Girl! I’m 33 weeks and I’m exactly the same, everything I do is like 10x the effort, but I feel so lethargic and no amount asleep is good enough. If I do tasks, I’m achey. I’m hoping this will pass cause when does the nesting start, as I’ve got LOADS of things to do! Xx
@Charlotte I’m so glad I’m not the only one !! It’s literally hell isn’t it !! Feels like I haven’t slept for WEEKS. Me too ! Too much to do and too little time ! xx
I was literally about to put a post on asking exactly the same. I am napping multiple times a day, I have to do something or I just fall asleep but when I am doing things I’m physically exhausted, out of breath and just feel like I have to sit down. I’m on iron tablets too. They clearly aren’t help.
Currently on my break at work and I’m trying to have dinner but my eyes just keep dropping😅
@Christa oh bless you I know exactly how you feel glad none of us are alone in this !!
I was thinking that it could be low iron… but my iron levels were checked a while back and they were fine - maybe it’s worth me having another blood test ?!
That’s so real! I hope you manage to get back soon and rest! I can’t imagine what it’s like working with this tiredness xx
Same... they've doubled my dose of iron tablets but I'm still anaemic... so exhausted I don't even have the energy to function
@Ellie rose the pregnancy made me iron anemic despite supplementation. It isn’t unusual as our bodies use way more iron for extra circulation. I had to do an infusion and full of energy again.
@Annie bless you!! So hard isn’t it :(
@Mia that’s really good to know ! Glad you’ve got your energy back!
I have no suggestions but feel for you because this is me atm too! Its reassuring to see so many feel the same but god its rough isnt it 🤣. I feel like I'm being so lazy but feel physically drained just from existing atm😴 my legs and feet are super achey too! xx
@Chaya it’s just nice knowing I’m not alone in this !! sometimes I forget how normal all of this really is ! xx
@Ellie rose ask your midwife to get tested and consider supplementation if that’s the reason. Low haemoglobin isn’t good not only for you, but also can have negative consequences for the baby.
Have you had your blood tests results back from your 28 week app? It might be worth checking your iron levels. Mine have depleted and my midwife has given me extra iron to take! I started feeling exhausted around 27/28 weeks because of it!
@Huong yes I did - iron levels all fine ! I’m going to ask for a test again and explain how I’m feeling in hopes she can give me some advice / medication.
@Ellie rose low B12 can be another reason
I'm 32 weeks and very much the same! I do have low iron but don't really think the tablets help a lot 🫣 not long to go! But it's really hard, this is my 4th pregnancy and it's still like woahhhhh xxx
@Mrs P when I had a consultation about my iron issues, I was told that once you become anemic (ferritin <30, harmoglobin <120) supplements are often not enough to restore iron to a healthy level
Oh really ?! What did you add to your diet / change ? X
@Mrs P it’s impossible to get enough iron from diet alone during pregnancy if you’re deficient. I personally had to do an infusion as my life was a misery for 3 months
Oh that's sad !! It isn't nice is it x
I’m the exact same I was nesting the past 2 weeks and truly doing superwoman stuff then hit 33 weeks and I’m defeated!! I’ve been on iron since I was 8weeks but genuinely cannot shake the tiredness at all🙈 really struggling now and it all happened since I hit that 33 mark!!
Hope it gets better for you my lovely. X
@Mia Yeah I really don’t think it’s my iron levels I’ve been told twice they’re fine….I think I’m just exhausted because I’m 33 weeks pregnant 🤣🤣
@Mia I take supplements of B12 and include B12 in my diet consistently
@Rebecca crazy isn’t it !!!! My whole pregnancy has been amaaaaazing now the serious symptoms are appearing 🤣we’re nearly there ! I hope it gets better for you too my love xx
I’m 33 weeks and experiencing this, only past week or so, moving in two weeks very panicked that I’m not going to be bothered to do anything 🤥xx
@lauren💓 it must be the 33 weeks mark!! Crazy!! Oh bless you hun I really hope it gets better for you and you’re able to get bits done !! Moving at 8 months pregnant?! you QUEEN👑
33 weeks today and I've just woken up from a nap as I was feeling so exhausted I certainly don't remember being this tired with my first I think the new wake time of 5am for my 3 year old has finally caught up with me 🙈 going to be taking all the naps I can from now on
@Ellie rose been waiting to find somewhere for 13 months. It’s now or never!🤣🩷
@lauren💓 oh bless you babe !! Good luck!! ❤️
@Helen honestly you and anyone who deals with this tiredness ALONGSIDE another toddler or baby WOW I take my hat off to you !! 🥰
