Hi all, I’m 5 + 2 weeks pregnant today and I’ve had some blood loss this evening, when I looked in the toilet there was tiny little pieces of what looked like skin tissue maybe? Red ones
I have spoke to EPU they won’t see me unless I fill a pad, does this look like the start of a miscarriage? I have since been to the toilet and lost nothing, I’m super anxious as I have miscarried in the past but it was a missed miscarriage so I had no symptoms - Thank you x

Learn more about our guidelines. With this amount of blood I wouldn’t be too worried. Bleeding in early pregnancy is not too uncommon (albeit terrifying I know). I bled at 5 weeks (over 10 days) and they suggested it was probably implantation as baby looked healthy on a scan. I think EPU is old be hesitant to scan you before 6 weeks as they just won’t see anything yet. So I’d recommend just keeping an eye on it and of course call them back if the cramping ramps up. Miscarriage bleeding is very heavy and clotty so this looks to be more cervical irritation/implantation at the mo. I know it’s impossible, but try to not assume the worst. Stay strong!! X
It’s hard to say. I had this to start with and the following day it got worse but it might be that’s it’s just a small amount like that and everything will be fine. Fingers crossed for you that’s it’s nothing x
Thank you both, I ended up going to the EPU they did an internal on me and said there was no fresh blood or clots so that was a positive sign, they’ve booked me in for a scan Wednesday morning when I’ll be 5+5 so 🤞🏻 everything is fine xx
