Anybody on second baba and feel the same?
First baby I obviously didn’t know what to expect and was raring to go … but this time I’m petrified. Been trying to do free online courses and stuff as trying to save as much as I can for babybut very weepy and anxious at the moment. Please tell me I’m not the only one?
Mostly scared as my little boy was a big baby (9:11lb) this baby is smaller apparently according to scans and I’m just scared how I’m going to get them out. I still can’t believe I got my son out naturally! I had a catheter for a week after though as bladder trauma and an episiotomy. Having a scan next week to check the size and options. A c section for some reason scares me more than a vagina birth.
Just after some second birth stories and calming techniques I guess. I have a supportive husband but I just feel they don’t get it because they don’t have to do it 🙈
Thanks x

Learn more about our guidelines.I was worried about my 2nd, I found Hypnobirthing helped (the breathing techniques) and knowing that I am in charge as my first one I didn't feel in charge at all. At least this one is smaller, I don't envy you with the size of the first one! Your body knows what it's doing, you've got this 💪
I am having moments of fear. Mostly because I'm not crazy about my doctor this time who is very worst case scenario. I'm afraid he'll try to badger me into interventions I don't want
I’m also not looking forward to it, just trying not to think about it too much. My first was 8lb 13oz and this one is scanning bigger (but hopefully he comes earlier so isn’t actually as big 🤞🏻). Everyone says it is easier and faster second time so hope that is true. Also not looking forward to the recovery + toddler combo.
My 1st birth was awful. Everyone wondered why I didn’t opt for a C-section the 2nd time round after how my 1st went.
But my 2nd was amazing and I’d do it again. My first ended in forceps, a tear and episiotomy.
Nothing with my 2nd !!🤍 (my 2nd was bigger too)
Yes more terrified this time! I had a traumatic birth with my first and while I feel like I can be a better advocate for myself this time… I’m so aware of what can go wrong. Plus the trauma flashbacks 😬
Maybe depending on how hard/traumatic the first time was? I was very lucky first time and I just panicked during the transition stage, but feel like I know what to expect now, and feel like I can do better this time… but every birth can be different even from same person, and my second might not go as well as the first and could end up being traumatic i suppose? So hard to imagine /predict so I’m trying my best to go with the flow and not worry as stress can definitely make labour harder ❤️
