When did you introduce a pacifier? Did it affect your breastfeeding in any way??

No didn’t affect breastfeeding for us, I introduced one while we were still in the hospital, I nursed my first for 16 months and my second we are going 20 months no issues. Having a pacifier was amazing so I didn’t turn into the pacifier (that’s what I am now since my second baby dropped hers 😭😭)
Took 16 weeks for my son to have one then he only used to to settle to sleep sometimes the after maybe like 4-6 weeks hated it won't even entertain it anyway and never affected feeding x
Handy if they will have one tho even strictly for soothing if you want because you end up a dummy 🤣
In the hospital and didn’t effect anything! Almost 12 months and still going! He did wean himself from the pacifier around 9 months tho.
We tried after 2 months & he hates them so I never really saw much effect — I think as long as you continue to feed on demand and offer breast first after 8 weeks shouldn’t have issues but every baby bf mom diad is different- it really depends how sensitive your supply is —-we have them all in freezer to massage his gums & as mini teethers to bite (he started teething very young way before he could hold the comparatively heavy teething rings .. the ones that are tubular to more closey mimic a nipple are hollow thru the back so we fill those with water and the ice was really soothing for him (obviously we have to be careful it doesn’t melt into his mouth etc)
a guy in the hospital popped one in her mouth without asking permission!!! ugh i was mad 😡 he was doing one of the tests
I gave her one at about 3 days old. We had been struggling with a good latch so I don’t think it can be put at fault. It was very helpful so my nipples could rest. She only took it for a few weeks though then stopped
Tried around 4-5 weeks and she hated it. Never used one
I think we waited just under 4 weeks to avoid nipple confusion. He was fine, it didn’t impact breastfeeding at all, and he liked it for a while. He basically self weaned from the pacifier around 8/9 months old. It kind of coincided with him getting his first teeth.
Only introduced it around 16 weeks as she wouldn’t take it before this and it was for naps only. Now with 4 month sleep regression it’s handy as I don’t have to nurse to sleep with each wake up, I use the dummy instead. Hasn’t affected the breastfeeding.
My girl refused the boob and then it was after that she accepted a dummy x
